Dream of Flight

Our readers know The Twilit Lens has photographed many abandoned places. But an abandoned aircraft is a nice change.

On the lawn of a small private airport in Apopka, Florida sits the remains of a Convair 240 airliner. Baking in the day’s heat, its rudder secured by a nailed on wooden board, it seems to dream of better days. Its engines were the same engines that carried fighter planes to war in World War II. Now they are quiet.
