We’ve recently discovered a new kind of photography!
We’ve all heard the endless rounds of debate about dslr versus mirrorless versus cell phone cameras. But what about photography that doesn’t use a camera at all?
Believe it or not, the kind of photography that we’re speaking of has actually been around for over a decade, quietly operating in a kind of shooters’ underground. It’s based in the virtual world of Second Life, and it’s more popular than you might imagine.
Composition, lighting and even depth of field can be controlled with SL’s virtual camera. And people routinely hire professionals to take shots that they plan on framing and putting on their wall, either in the virtual or the real world.
So we’ve hopped on the bandwagon. The Twilit Lens has opened up a virtual studio (yes, that’s me at work above). If you’re ever on Second Life, check us out. Maybe you’ll be hooked too. 😉
