Prayer for the Dead - Cemetery Photograph

It almost always strikes me as odd how, whenever I take photographs on overcast days, I never have to make up the the amazing formations in the sky. Granted post-processing helps bring out quite a few of the details, but I always wind up in awe of the churning structures thousands of feet above. And believe it or not, the above shot is not HDR! A single image captured it all.

Finished with this photo, I was inspired to write…

Scraping pen mimics bone dragging time under stone
Time cries soft lullaby under gray boiling sky
Voices cold whisper shy hidden tales, beckon my
Shaking hand, pounding out memoirs. Dim memories shout
Worship both of God and Man. As glassy eye seizes span
Of mortal years, forests pick ruin's food before quick
Drawn awed breaths escape my palsied throat. But all is dry
After all. This is a mere dream of dreams. I'm not here.

Exposure Data: ISO 100, f/8, 1/400
