Cathedral - Looming Architecture

Searching Google for local historical and architectural sites can often yield exciting results. On a recent trip through Connecticut, I performed such a search in my hotel room and discovered this church was not far away. So during the early morning hours, I sought it out.

The dynamic range was just shy of the camera’s sensor to convey, so more bracketing was needed. A little use of the cloning tool in post-processing was needed to hide a pesky telephone wire. Then a bit more digital filtering.

It should also be noted that I recently acquired a new Rokinon 18-270mm zoom. Its excellent image quality allowed a detailed portrayal of this church building. At some point in the near future, I’ll be dedicating a post to this lens as I’ve been very pleased with its performance.
