Thinking Statue - A Lensbaby Creation

There was a silence that invited contemplation as spring broke over the graves. I wandered in the bright sunlight, moved at the contrast between the signs of death and the promise of new life beyond winter. A nearby ancient magnolia was budding and birdsong was everywhere.

Normally I don’t enjoy overexposed images, Hollywood’s continued dramatic use of them notwithstanding. But every once in a while it makes sense to let the sky acquire that ethereal quality of dreamland. And the Lensbaby Spark used in this shot gave needed emphasis.

Exposure data: ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/200

Freelance photographer and ponderer of the unusual. I welcome the presence of mystery and the unknown. Wonder is not absent from the universe, and there is still room for the child in those who haven't yet allowed their hearts to wither to dust.
