There was a silence that invited contemplation as spring broke over the graves. I wandered in the bright sunlight, moved at the contrast between the signs of death and the promise of new life beyond winter. A nearby ancient magnolia was budding and birdsong was everywhere.
Normally I don’t enjoy overexposed images, Hollywood’s continued dramatic use of them notwithstanding. But every once in a while it makes sense to let the sky acquire that ethereal quality of dreamland. And the Lensbaby Spark used in this shot gave needed emphasis.
