Abandoned Loader - A Photography Drive-By

I found this logging equipment sitting dormant while on one of my frequent “explorations,” and was struck by the vivid textures. Unable to use any supplemental lighting due to the private cordon separating me from my subject, I used a 55-250mm zoom and bench-rested my 7D on my vehicle’s open door to take the shot.

An interesting side note is that due to the available lighting the shot demanded ISO 6400, close to the extreme upper range of the 7D’s sensitivity. But even before I used Topaz Labs’ DeNoise filter, the photo looked very nice. I guess I’m just OCD about sharpness. 😉

Exposure Data: ISO 6400, f/13, 1/320
