The Judges - Living Leading Lines

How easily people fall into patterns. You only need to lean against a wall and watch it happen. Like molecules aligning into crystals, humans form queues, circles, and rows of fixed faces with an unconscious habit as reliable as the sun’s rising.

As a photographer, I enjoy seeing these things take shape. This row of shoppers examining wares reminded me of a row of judges deciding a case. You could draw an almost ruler-straight line from head to head as they solemnly make their choices. Combine that with high-contrast b&w processing and the patterns become almost hypnotic.
