How to Face Your Fears in 5 Minutes Flat

Insects are great subjects for photos, especially on a cold day when they’re sluggish. But if you’ve been stung a lot, it can be an exercise in self-control to keep camera shake out of your shot when you’re this close. Fortunately, yellow jackets like this one aren’t particularly aggressive. Keep your aperture wide and your shutter speed about 1/200 or faster, not just to capture sudden movement but to make it easier to hand-hold your camera.
