Helpful Tips for Poor Lighting

For photographers big events can be perfect examples of demand, rush and the unexpected. To make matters worse, the lighting is often less than ideal. So what to do when your client is in a hurry?

First, having an assistant at your side is great! Second, a portable boom with a flashpack (in manual mode) and remote trigger is very helpful. And don’t forget a decent shoot-through umbrella. For portrait-ready lenses, try a prime with a very wide maximum aperture to help the exposure be what you want it to be.
